To those buying the old 2015 MacBook, most of them still run perfectly with no issues and buy second hand is far safer than trying to buy a 2016 MacBook pro second hand.ĩ times out of ten the 20 MacBook sold on eBay and other sites have keyboard issues and defects that have not or just could not be resolved so you will find yourself buying someone else’s problems unless you buy refurbished - certified refurbished - not user refurbished. To the latter, its best to check your new 2017 MacBook pro properly the first two week so you can return it if there are any issues because apple with give you a hard time when it comes to the keyboard after your two weeks is over. To those with less money to spend the best is the 2015 MacBook pro and to those who love burning holes in their pockets because they can afford to, the 2017 MacBook pro is by far the best provided you don't get a defective one with a broken keyboard or clicky keys or with unresolved issues. End of the day the one that worked for you is the best of them all. This is a matter of opinion because each owner of an apple product thinks theirs is the best. I think the question asked was which is the best MacBook ever made.
The MacBook air rocks! There is nothing like it, in terms of battery life on a mac computer. THE MACBOOK AIR ROCKS! THERE IS NOTHING LIKE IT, IN TERMS OF BATTERY LIFE ON A MAC COMPUTER. You need to remember that Apple is still a company that answers to shareholders, so as long as its shareholders are happy, then that is an indication it has made the correct business decision, regardless of any of our opinions. Is Apple making the right move with this MBP? Only time will tell. Apple make things consumers do not yet know that they need. Remember one of Jobs' philosophy: Apple doesn't make things that the consumers already know they need. One quirk about Apple is that they like to lead, change, and revolutionise whenever they can. As for using dongles now, that's the price you pay for being an early adopter. I'm willing to bet that within the next year, more USB-C devices will show up, therefore reducing the need for dongles. The only reason you have to use dongles now is because not many devices out there have adopted the technology. It is generally accepted that USB-C is the future. It's an emotive argument rather than factual. You are contradicting yourself and putting forth a poor argument for your own bias, that's fine just expect to be called out in it.Ĭlick to expand.I think this statement is doing you a disservice. And all the things you don't think are important are the main things that improve the perception of speed in day to day computing tasks, as you point out yourself the actual CPU speed is not much different, but that's hardly apples fault Intel still haven't shipped any iris pro graphics processors for skylake, and the skylake change from haswell is not that great anyway. Yes thunderbolt 2 throttles eGPU's, and egpus will become more mainstream as people want to use their mobile computers with VR without having to lug around an 8lb dual GPU hot loud crap battery life monster.Īctually as far as I can tell the main Reason that most people buy something new is because they want something new and faster their old computer is doing just fine their expectations have changed. Benchmarks mean nothing however all the reviews I have read have shown the new machine to be faster in every metric I have seen tested. No the Geekbench results only measure CPU and in many apps (especially those where it's going to make any bloody difference) the GPU Is also leveraged, you pointed out yourself how much better the Radeon in the 15 inch is (at a much lower TDP for quieter cooler operation at that). Those USBc are a universal all ways port that are very small and compact and have DP 1.3 thunderbolt 3 and power all built in they will all do everything basically, can't see why anyone would have a problem with that 2or 3 dongles and one cable is better than six different cables for different products surely?
